Just what nobody asked for - a plant-based slasher film, shot in the steamy Everglades!

Christopher Pinto has begun development of his latest idea, "Tropical Terror", planned to be a short film that's long on fun (and chlorophyl).

Beginning with a cliche, a palm plant is exposed to some as-yet unknown substance, for reasons. Clearly this will lead to the plant becoming sentient, mobile, and murderous.

"It's Day of the Triffids meets Rubber", says Pinto. "With a lot of blood spatter".

Pinto has not yet decided if the film will be shot in black and white, reminiscent of Night of the Living Dead, or in full bloody color. "I'd really like to do it like 1960s B-movie, campy and fun but with some points of real terror."

Shooting is estimated to start in September, primarily in South Florida, and possibly with a second location in the mid west. "Most of South Florida is too "new" to really be scary, or to get a believable 60's look."
